Playwright
Kevin is a playwright, singer, actor, director, journalist and Proud 90's kid who has been working professionally for the past 18 years. His coming-of-age drama The Unpredictable Times will be making its regional premiere with Rise Above Performing Arts in June, 2021. Before that industry readings and workshops of it have been presented on Broadway at The Hudson Theatre's Dress Circle Lounge, The Manhattan Repertory Theatre, The Kennedy Center's Page to Stage Festival and with The Dixon Place Lounge (which featured Tony Award Nominee Alex Brightman), Shetler Studios, & The Pier One Theatre in Homer, Alaska. His other projects include: A (Funny) Imagination! - An Unauthorized Parody based on Characters from the Cartoon Doug (New York Theater Festival, Dixon Place), Life Inside an Open Kaije (Capitol Fringe Festival), Birdie and Tim (Current/ In Development), and Hey, We're Done Here! - A Unauthorized Parody based on Characters from the Cartoon Hey Arnold! (In Development). In 2016 Kevin was commissioned with The Davenport Theatre (Off-Broadway) to present a night of readings for his short plays (Life Inside an Open Kaije, A Week in the Life of Norah Andrews, & The Next Day) which was titled "Before It Got Unpredictable".
Kevin is also a Staff Writer for OnStage Blog and The Midcarders. His most known for his feature titled "Stop Asking Black Performers to “Sound Blacker" During Auditions". Since then, he has interviewed and featured over 150 artists for the website. Most notable artist include - Tony Award Winner James Monroe Iglehart, Two-Time Tony Nominee Eva Noblezada, Samantha Barks, Tony Nominee Lilli Cooper, Olivier Award Nominee Kyle Scatliffe, Paolo Montalban, The Skivvies (Lauran Molina & Nick Cearley), Telly Leung, Drew Gasparini, Rodney Hicks, Ali Ewoldt (First Asian-American actress to star as Christine in The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway), Roman Banks (First Black Evan Hansen in Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway), & Legendary Voice Coach Liz Caplan.
